The Spread of Coronavirus at Meat Packing Plants

Workers at meat packing plants share space as well as equipment on a daily basis. It only makes sense that they are some of the hottest spots for the coronavirus outbreaks. Many of these workers are concerned for their safety and can’t afford to lose their job.

In the United States, there are a few companies that control a large percent of the nation’s meat production: Tyson, JBS, and Cargill Inc. Each of these companies have had numerous outbreaks in their meat packing plants.

Unfortunately, workers are sometimes forced to choose between keeping their job and getting sick. In the worst cases, they get sick and still lose their job.
